The legend of the Rutland Panther is very well known and many people have reported seeing it, but it has never been positively identified, so Oncar is a fictional account based on this very popular legend. The story is about the adventure of Oncar, The Rutland Panther, and how he arrives at Rutland Water without any friends or family but soon discovers trust, loyalty, a belonging and develops a special friendship with the other animals at the Water who actually end up risking their own lives to save him from being killed.
It is an emotional adventure and the audio soundtrack and physical book are suitable for both young and old!
"I loved it Tracey. The story is so beautifully told and the tone exquisite. The illustrations in the book are completely stunning, too! I especially like the ending - and the way young minds will extrapolate a secret but very much living and breathing existence for the Rutland Panther! Thank you for sharing it with me, you should be very proud - I certainly am, of you; you give so much to the world creatively, it's a real inspiration" William Ivory

It has been an absolute pleasure to be involved in this project. At Langham School, we strive to ensure our children love life in all its fullness. We would like to thank Tracey for her passion to inspire all children to fall in love with nature. Langham pupils and staff showed their love and amazement of nature's beauty through their whole-hearted participation in this book project.

Rutland Water has fantastic wildlife, with a wealth of habitats that are home to a host of rare plants & animals, which are nationally & internationally important for the wildlife it sustains. We believe that we should do more than just conserve the wildlife at the site; we should work with others to enhance it. We were delighted to hear that Tracey has a passion for Rutland Water & has created this magical story to inspire children to connect with nature. It was a pleasure to be involved.
