"These young people put on a display far beyond anything I have seen in theatre for a very long time...
Their performance pulled at all the emotions, love, humour, hate, sadness, happiness and and even pathos.
All of my colleagues and friends registered with the solid empathy emitted by your students...
I spoke afterwards to a number of people outside of our party; excuse the phrase, they were all blown away." - John Aylward
"This afternoon's performance was quite exceptional and moving. An enormous tribute to everyone involved. Glad I went." Peter Lawson
" I Went to Curve yesterday to see Phantom Love. What an excellent performance particularly by the execution of the play. It takes some nerve to stand up on that professional stage and sing and act and those guys did a superb job. Well done to them, the orchestra, the teachers who directed them and whoever else helped out with costumes and props. Big pat on the back to all." - Lesley Perry
"I think the show could work well as a way of educating school kids about the horrors of war which should be a focus for kids this year" - Karl Strickland, Leicester Theatre Group
"May I congratulate all the performers in the production of 'Phantom Love', which was staged at the Curve Theatre yesterday. I thought the performances by all the cast were excellent. Realising the performers were only just a bit older than many of the WW1 soldiers made the production even more poignant.
It was altogether an excellent production. It was evident that a lot of time and effort had been taken, so WELL DONE to everyone front of house and back stage
Please pass on my congratulations." - Rosie Price
"I have just taken a phone call from an elderly lady, 87 and partially sighted, who had called to say how much she had enjoyed her visit, last night, to the
Curve Theatre. Mrs Hadley from Melton Mowbray has visited World War 1 battlefields and was very moved by our students brilliant portrayals.
Mrs Hadley went on to say that all the students who had taken part should be ‘put forward for something’ and that she has been in touch with the BBC urging them to get them on the telly! What a lovely lady." - Carole Skinner, Client Services Receptionist, Catmose College
"My Mum and I came along and really enjoyed it. The show was very moving and the young cast made it even more emotional as they would have been around the age of many of the soldiers who lost their lives." - Lanes Fine Jewellery
"We drove home talking non-stop about it all – and humming the tunes. It was tremendously moving, probably all the more because it was being performed by such young actors, but it was never over sentimental. I shall be very interested to hear if it is being performed again somewhere, and just felt I must congratulate you on a wonderful performance." - Jane Micklethwait
"Congratulations on a wonderful day, yesterday. Your school deserves all the praise and admiration with such an outstanding achievement of such atour de force.
The whole presentation was excellent. The standard of all the musical performances soloists and groups, the quality of the verse delivery, and also the very dramatic performance of Phantom Love.aided by the very good accompaniment of the players in the band.
Please pass on my appreciation to the whole production team for their outstanding achievement." - Clive Rogers
